About the Role:

We're looking for a passionate and skilled full-time Barista to join our team. In this role, you will prepare and serve high-quality beverages, educate customers about our menu, recommend drinks based on individual preferences, and introduce featured or seasonal offerings. You'll also take and manage orders efficiently, ensuring a smooth and pleasant service flow. Most importantly, you will help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest who walks through our doors.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent customer service skills, a good understanding of brewing equipment, and the ability to work flexible shifts. Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage offerings at the café.
• Prepare beverages and food items in accordance with company standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Build strong customer relationships to enhance the overall café experience.
• Recommend menu items or merchandise based on customer preferences, including featured or seasonal offerings.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of the café, including workstations and equipment, in line with food safety standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and care of coffee machines and brewing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Manage café inventory, including stock checks, replenishment, and handling deliveries.
• Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations and share ideas to improve customer experience.
• Support café operations across roles and assist with other duties as needed by management.
• Uphold consistency and quality in every cup of coffee served.
• Possess foundational knowledge of coffee origins, grind sizes, brewing methods, and latte art pouring.

Requirements & Skills

• Prior experience as a Barista for at least 2 years
• Genuine passion for coffee culture and the art of coffee-making.
• Enjoys engaging with people and has a strong desire to work in the service and hospitality industry.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness and flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry supplies (e.g. stock, equipment) as needed.

Employment Details

• Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site at Komunal Cafe
• Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays, in line with cafE operating hours
