Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure and deployment pipelines for client projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and optimizing CI/CD workflows, managing cloud and on-premises environments, automating infrastructure provisioning, and supporting application teams with DevOps best practices. The role involves collaborating with software engineers, system administrators, and project stakeholders to improve release cycles, enhance system performance, and ensure high availability. This is a contract position based in Greater Kuala Lumpur, structured as a hybrid role with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and the ability to design automated, repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
  • Background in Software Development with proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Shell) and familiarity with API-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on Continuous Integration expertise using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps, with a focus on automated testing and deployment pipelines.
  • Solid System Administration skills, including managing servers, networks, monitoring, and troubleshooting in complex, distributed environments.
  • Advanced Linux knowledge, including performance tuning, security hardening, and automation using shell scripts or configuration management tools.
  • Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks) and incident management practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
