Responsibilities
Job Purpose
To support the Metadata Management function for the Orion Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) by maintaining business and technical metadata (definitions, lineage and glossary), supporting BAU change requests, testing and user support, and ensuring metadata processes are followed and kept up to date.
Key Responsibilities
1.Support BAU operations, change requests and enhancements for existing Data Lake, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and the upcoming Enterprise Data Management Platform.
2.Participate in requirements gathering and feasibility studies; support evaluation and recommendation of metadata/data solutions.
3.Work closely with Data Stewards to identify and document business and technical metadata for critical data elements (definitions, lineage and glossary).
4.Support metadata tool usage and execute catalogue activities.
5.Plan and collaborate with stakeholders for implementation of users’ requests; track progress and provide timely status updates.
6.Act as liaison with source system teams and technical/application teams for data sourcing requirements and metadata alignment.
7.Support testing activities (unit, integration and UAT) and provide user support during UAT for Data Lake, EDW and related centralized data platforms changes.
8.Assist in creating and maintaining procedures and workflows for the Metadata Management platform and data engineering processes.
9.Front and support user requests including new change requests, data access requests and data enquiries, following defined operating procedures.
10.Ensure on-time updates to processes/procedures and enforce compliance with centralized data platform governance.
Qualifications & Skills (including mandated licenses where applicable)
1.Bachelor’s degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, Data/Analytics, Business or related discipline.
2.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data platforms, data management, metadata governance or related roles (banking environment preferred).
3.Understanding of metadata concepts (data definitions, glossary, lineage) and ability to document accurately.
4.Working knowledge of data platforms and tools (e.g., metadata/catalogue tools, SQL/Hive); EDW/Data Lake exposure is an advantage.
5.Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
6.Good communication and collaboration skills to work with Data Stewards, business users and technical teams.
7.High ethical standards and discipline in handling sensitive and confidential information.
