Middle East Oil Market Analyst - Singapore

MNI is looking for a talented and experienced oil market analyst to join our highly successful and fast-growing global markets team. We are seeking an entrepreneurial self-starter who is genuinely enthusiastic and passionate about physical oil markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly analytical, ambitious, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. We are a team of experienced analysts, researchers and former traders drawn from energy/utility companies, price reporting agencies, investment banking, and research industries. We deliver real-time analysis and insight on global markets to a broad client base that includes traders, portfolio managers, economists and strategists on both the buy-side and sell-side.

The principal responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing real-time analysis and actionable insight on energy markets covering global crude/oil products markets with focus on the Middle East and Asia.
• Monitor and analyse physical crude grade pricing and differentials (e.g., Dubai, Murban) and how they drive waterborne export economics and international arbitrage.
• Interaction with clients during the trading day.
• Working closely with the senior energy analysts and the wider markets team covering oil and energy markets.
• Contributing to regular thematic research.
• Developing new analytical tools and research products.
• Developing market connections and managing existing relationships

Essential requirements for this role:

• Strong academic background: Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Higher level education (Masters degree) desirable.
• We are considering a wide range of experience levels from 5-years + with relevant markets analytical experience in either oil or refined oil product markets.
• Able to deliver insightful and actionable analysis in a pressured real-time environment.
• Team player with strong collaboration skills.
