Banking Functional Tester – Internet Banking

Position: Functional Tester – Banking / Internet Banking

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Functional Tester with strong Banking and Internet Banking application testing experience. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Manual Testing, Functional Testing, Test Automation, Test Management, Agile Testing and DevOps methodologies.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test scenarios, preparing test data, identifying and tracking defects, validating fixes, and ensuring applications meet defined business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop test scripts, test conditions, input test data and expected results based on application requirements.
• Prepare and execute test plans covering component, assembly, product, performance, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and technical architecture testing.
• Perform functional and manual testing of banking applications, particularly Internet Banking platforms.
• Develop, update and maintain testing standards and procedures.
• Execute test scripts and document test results.
• Identify, record and track defects/issues in accordance with project defect and issue management processes.
• Provide clear defect documentation, including steps to reproduce issues.
• Work closely with application/development teams to investigate and resolve issues identified during testing.
• Participate in the release control process and ensure solutions meet business requirements before moving through testing and release.
• Perform retesting and validate product fixes.
• Communicate testing progress, defects and risks to the Test Lead/Test Manager.
• Highlight any issues that may impact project schedule, budget, quality or testing activities.
• Follow Agile Testing and DevOps methodologies throughout the testing lifecycle.

Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical / Functional Skills

• Strong experience in Banking application testing.
• Strong knowledge of Internet Banking applications.
• Hands-on experience in Manual Testing and Functional Testing.
• Experience in developing test conditions and expected results from application requirements.
• Experience in test case/test script preparation and execution.
• Strong defect identification, documentation and tracking skills.
• Understanding of software testing concepts and the overall project lifecycle.
• Experience with Test Automation and/or exposure to automated testing practices.
• Knowledge of Test Management.
• Strong understanding of Agile Testing.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Education

• Diploma or equivalent qualification with a Computer / IT-related major.
• Relevant professional experience in software testing.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked on banking or Internet Banking applications and has practical experience across the testing lifecycle — from understanding requirements and creating test cases through execution, defect management, retesting and release validation.

Pay: RM2,415.74 - RM7,000.00 per month
