Job Description

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be a vital pillar of our finance operations, ensuring accurate and transparent financial records across multiple entities and Maisons. You will partner closely with commercial, retail, AR/AP, and cross-functional finance teams to maintain robust internal controls, streamline accounting workflows, and provide critical support for financial analysis and decision-making. The Position may extend to support duties in the spectrum of account receivable duties.


Roles & Responsibilities

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

  • Handle daily transactional accounting, including journal entries, postings, and GL reconciliations.
  • Ensure GL accuracy in close collaboration with AR and AP teams.
  • Execute month-end and period-end closes, including accruals, trial balance reviews, and variance investigations.
  • Maintain accurate records for inventory, fixed assets, rent, and major operating expenses.
  • Partner with Business Planning & Control on expense reviews and analysis.

Regulatory Compliance, Controls & Systems

  • Enforce company policies, internal controls, and GAAP/IFRS standards.
  • Prepare documentation to support internal/external audits, statutory requirements, and tax reporting.
  • Utilize ERP systems and finance tools to streamline accounting and reporting workflows.

Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Support

  • Prepare schedules, bank reconciliations, and reports for management and monthly Group reporting.
  • Manage cost allocations, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.
  • Provide financial data and insights to FP&A and commercial teams.
  • Support sales rent audits, credit card machine controls, and ad-hoc process optimization projects.

Other Responsibilities

  • For Accounts Receivables, billings & receipts processing, collections & adjustments, deposits and credits management
  • Support ad-hoc projects and analysis as required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting or audit role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/finance systems.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Independent, adaptable team player capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English with strong cross-functional communication skills.
