Job Description

We are looking for an experienced BI Developer to support business intelligence, data analytics and reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL and data modelling, with the ability to translate business requirements into meaningful dashboards and actionable insights.

The role will involve working closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams and technical teams to develop reliable reporting solutions and deliver high-quality data visualizations.

Key ResponsibilitiesAnalytics & Visualization

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document comprehensive data requirements.
• Create wireframes and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Canvas or equivalent platforms to guide dashboard layout and user experience.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards using visual analytics best practices.
• Transform raw data into meaningful KPIs, insights and actionable data stories for decision-makers.
• Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, visually clear and aligned with business requirements.

Data Integration & Architecture

• Integrate Power BI dashboards and semantic models with Microsoft Fabric and other Azure cloud services to support secure and reliable data delivery.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to establish automated data workflows and integration using Fabric Data Pipelines, Lakehouses and Synapse.
• Develop and maintain data models and semantic layers to support business reporting and analytics requirements.
• Perform end-to-end data validation and quality checks to ensure accurate, reliable and consistent reporting.
• Troubleshoot data and reporting issues and work with relevant technical teams to resolve them.

Documentation & Ad-Hoc Support

• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering data models, dashboard logic, semantic layers and end-user guides.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytical support to different business units as required.
• Assist with troubleshooting and enhancement of existing dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of BI processes, reporting standards and data visualization practices.

RequirementsExperience & Technical Skills

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in BI development, data analytics, business intelligence or business analysis roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including:
• DAX
• Power Query
• Data modelling
• Dashboard development
• Performance optimization
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including:
• Data Pipelines
• Lakehouses
• Notebooks
• Power BI within Microsoft Fabric
• Strong proficiency in SQL with experience working with structured and unstructured data sources.
• Experience in developing data models and semantic models for reporting and analytics.
• Experience with dashboard UI/UX prototyping using Figma, Canvas or equivalent design tools.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

Mandatory Certifications

Candidates must hold both of the following certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
