Requirements

Education:

  • Technician: Diploma / Certificate in Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Engineer: Diploma / Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electronics, or a related engineering field.

Experience:

  • Technician: Preferably 1–3 years of experience in PCB repair, rework, electronics manufacturing, or production.
  • Engineer: Preferably 2–5 years of experience in PCB process engineering, repair/rework, electronics manufacturing, or failure analysis.
  • Experience in SMT/THT production and PCB troubleshooting is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates may be considered for suitable entry-level positions.

Technical Skills:

  • Good knowledge of PCB assemblies and electronic components.
  • Proficient in manual soldering and desoldering techniques.
  • Experience with SMT and THT component rework.
  • Able to read and understand circuit diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with the use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Knowledge of ESD control and safe handling of electronic components.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 / IPC-7711/7721 standards is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of failure analysis and root cause analysis is preferred.

  • Productivity and achievement of assigned repair/rework targets.

 We are looking for candidates from Sabah and Sarawak with a background in Electronic Engineering. The position is based in Melaka. Accommodation and transportation will be provided by the company. 

Responsibilities

The PCB Process Technician / Engineer (Repair & Rework) is responsible for performing PCB repair, rework and restoration activities (including via, pad, trace and plated-through-hole repairs), replating, soldering/desoldering and component replacement. The role includes on-site service support at customer locations, inspection and quality control to ensure compliance with IPC standards and customer specifications, and collaboration with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform PCB repair and rework activities, including via, pad, trace, and plated-through-hole (PTH) repairs.
  • Conduct PCB replating and restoration processes according to engineering requirements.
  • Repair and modify PCB assemblies based on work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, component replacement, and circuit restoration work.
  • Perform PCB repair and rework activities at customer sites when required.
  • Travel to customer locations to provide technical support and repair services.
  • Ensure all on-site work is completed according to customer requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Prepare service reports and communicate repair findings to customers and management.
  • Support production activities by resolving PCB-related defects and non-conformities.
  • Work closely with the Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve repair processes.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring defects.
  • Ensure repair activities meet production schedules and quality requirements.
  • Inspect repaired boards using microscopes and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct visual and continuity checks to verify repair quality.
  • Ensure repaired PCBs comply with IPC standards, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and traceability documentation.
  • Follow ESD procedures, SOPs, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of tools, equipment, and workstations.
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
