Job Summary
Develop and optimize food product formulations, support scale-up and commercialization, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards in a collaborative R&D environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize food product formulations based on specific product requirements and specifications
Conduct laboratory trials, benchtop experiments, pilot trials, and support plant-scale trials to validate formulations
Lead product scale-up and commercialization activities from development through production stages
Execute reformulation and product improvement projects to enhance product quality, cost-effectiveness, and process efficiency
Evaluate ingredient functionality and suitability for various product applications to ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and other departments to troubleshoot product and process issues effectively
Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including product specifications, formulations, BOM, and R&D records
Support packaging artwork, ingredient declarations, and product labeling reviews to ensure compliance with applicable food regulations
Conduct technical feasibility assessments for new products and manufacturing processes to guide development decisions
Ensure all R&D activities comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and relevant company standards
Perform additional R&D-related duties and projects as assigned to support business objectives
Requirements
Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a related discipline
1–3 years of relevant experience in food product development, R&D, or food manufacturing
Experience in product formulation, reformulation, pilot trials, and scale-up processes
Knowledge of food ingredients, ingredient functionality, and food processing techniques
Possess at least one year of hands-on experience in food applications, preferably in chocolate, confectionery, bakery, edible oils and fats, or related industries.
Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements
Knowledge of food regulatory requirements and product labeling
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
