Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Supervisor to supervise and coordinate construction activities fora major hospital project in Singapore. The successful candidate will oversee site supervisors, workers, and subcontractors, monitor construction progress and workmanship, and ensure that site activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities across assigned work areas.
• Lead and guide Site Supervisors, workers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
• Coordinate manpower deployment and work activities according to the approved construction programme.
• Monitor subcontractors' performance and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist works with Site Engineers and other project teams.
• Monitor construction progress and report delays, site issues, and manpower requirements to the Site Manager or Construction Manager.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, quality, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
• Identify defective, incomplete, or non-conforming works and coordinate necessary rectification.
• Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with workplace safety requirements and project safety procedures.
• Monitor proper use and handling of construction materials, tools, equipment, and other site resources.
• Coordinate work sequencing between different trades to minimize clashes, delays, and disruption.
• Assist Site Engineers with setting-out, measurements, inspections, testing, and other technical site activities.
• Assist in coordinating inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and defect rectification works.
• Maintain daily site records, manpower records, work progress information, and inspection records.
• Attend site coordination and progress meetings and provide updates on construction activities.
• Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are properly stored and available for scheduled works.
• Ensure good housekeeping and maintain safe and orderly work areas.
• Assist the Site Manager and Construction Manager in implementing project schedules and recovery plans.
• Mentor and guide junior site supervisors and workers in proper work practices.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Site Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma, Nitec, Higher Nitec, or relevant technical qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction site supervision experience.
• Prior experience in hospital or healthcare construction projects is required.
• Proven experience supervising workers and subcontractors on large-scale building projects.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site operations, work sequencing, and site coordination.
• Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with architectural, structural, M&E, and specialist construction works.
• Knowledge of Singapore workplace safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Good leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to supervise multiple work areas and coordinate different site teams effectively.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to work independently and effectively under project schedules and deadlines.
• Willing to work on construction sites according to project requirements.
