HWA (formerly Handicaps Welfare Association) is a Social Service Organisation providing Intermediate and Long Term Care services to improve the lives of people with physical disabilities and the elderly in the community since 1969.
Job Summary
Deliver compassionate and professional nursing care to home nursing clients, supervise healthcare assistants, and conduct thorough assessments to ensure quality and continuity of care in a homecare setting.
Responsibilities
Deliver quality nursing care to home nursing clients to meet their health needs and improve well-being
Supervise healthcare assistants to ensure effective support and management of complex nursing cases
Conduct initial assessments of new clients to establish care plans
Perform regular re-assessments to monitor progress of home care service clients and adjust care accordingly
Required competencies and certifications
Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
Degree or Diploma in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a homecare setting
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Experience working in homecare nursing environments
Other Information
Work schedule: 5 days per week, non-shift

is a Social Service Organisation and providing various ‘Intermediate and long Term Care (ILTC)’ services to enhance the quality of life of people with physical disabilities and elderly in the community. These services include door to door accessible Transport, Rehabilitation, Home Care Services and Social Services.. It is a full member of the National Council of Social Service but is not a beneficiary member of the Community Chest of Singapore.
Founded on 18 December 1969 by 23 people with disabilities, it was first known as the Singapore Handicaps Friendship Club. It later became known as Singapore Association for the Disabled and Handicaps Welfare Association in 1976. From 2023, the Association name has been officialy changed to HWA.
MISSION
We are committed to enhance the quality of life of people with physical disabilities and integrate them into mainstream society.
OBJECTIVES
The Association aims to create among the community and the government an awareness of the special needs of people with disabilities and solicit their co-operation and assistance to further the objectives of the Association. We are a self-help group among people with disabilities and we exist to:
Foster friendship, understanding and mutual assistance among its members.
Promote the welfare, education, training, rehabilitation, employment and other interests of members and integrate them into mainstream society
Enhance educational opportunities through bursaries, scholarships, grants, and subsidies as well as exchange programmes.
To advance for greater benefits and concessions for people with disabilities to enhance their quality of lives.
Raise funds from the public and to administer donations, gifts or bequest from any person, body or organisation to enhance the quality of lives of members and promote their independence.
