Site Safety Supervisor - Valid YB only and active

Summary:

• To create safety awareness and carry out safety meetings, fire drill exercise, safety induction and safety training to existing employees and new employees.
• To provide assistance for safety before & amp; during internal/external’s audit by ensuring all related documents at site is updated from time to time.
• To implement and monitor aspects of Safety Management System activities in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
• Recommend and implement process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
• Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
• Investigate industrial / construction accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
• Review plans and specifications for the construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
• Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities and inspections.
• Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
• Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
• This includes safety training for new hire orientation, ongoing re-training, and compliance training.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to organizations on how to handle health-related problems and make needed changes.
• Interpret safety regulations for others interested in industrial safety such as safety engineers, labor representatives, and safety inspectors.
• Create and lead steering committees, when necessary, to promote continuous improvement (i.e. PPE, corrective action, etc).
• Participate in project meetings and quality briefings as required.
• Comply with Quality, Health & Safety Policies.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or a related field.
• Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) registration with DOSH (JKKP).
• Minimum 5–8 years of working experience as a Site Safety Supervisor in construction, preferably in M&E or data centre projects.
• Good knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994), applicable regulations, and construction safety requirements.
• Experience in managing site safety activities, conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with project safety procedures.
• Familiar with HIRARC, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, Permit to Work (PTW) and emergency response procedures.
• Experience in monitoring and coordinating safety activities involving multiple subcontractors and construction teams.
• Ability to conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and regular site safety inspections.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in preparing safety reports, incident reports, inspection checklists, and other safety documentation.
• Able to work independently, manage site safety matters, and coordinate effectively with project management, EHS teams, and subcontractors.
• Willing to work on-site and support project requirements, including extended working hours when necessary.
• Relevant CIDB certification and safety qualifications will be an added advantage.

Working Hour

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm

Saturday 8.00am to 12noon (Alternate)
