Job Description

Accounts Assistant

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense records and funds reconciliation.
  • Assist with bookkeeping, ledger entries, invoicing, receipts and maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  • Handle and reconcile client and office accounts, including client monies, payments and disbursements.
  • Assist with monthly bank and client account reconciliations, month-end closing and preparation of financial reports and accounting schedules.
  • Assist with GST submissions, tax filings and statutory reporting in accordance with applicable Singapore requirements and IRAS/ACRA regulations.
  • Assist with payroll processing, staff expense claims and CPF submissions.
  • Assist with billing and monitoring of outstanding client accounts where required.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, vendors and other relevant parties as required.
  • Assist with audit and compliance matters and ensure accounting procedures are carried out in accordance with firm policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling financial and client information.
  • Perform other ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience. Experience in a professional services environment or law firm will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with computerised accounting software, will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore accounting practices, GST and basic statutory requirements.
  • Experience handling client accounts, payroll and CPF matters.
  • Strong attention to detail, good numerical and analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Well-organised, responsible and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and client information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Applicants must be currently based in Singapore.
