We're not going to do that. We're going to tell you exactly what this job is. If you're still interested at the end, you're probably the right person.

The situation

Energi Elite is Malaysia's leading home EV charger installation company. We're the official Proton installer partner, with 3,500+ installations and a team that keeps growing every quarter.

We grew fast, and our people systems didn't grow as fast as the business did. Hiring happens on WhatsApp. Some KPIs live in someone's head. Onboarding depends on who's free that day.

That's the job. You're not joining a company with a polished HR department. You're joining one that needs you to build it.

What you'll actually be doing

Hiring, constantly. Sales, installers, technicians, admin. You'll write the job posts, screen the candidates, set up the interviews, and make sure good people don't slip away because we replied too slowly.

Building the systems we don't have yet. Onboarding checklists, role descriptions, KPI sheets, leave and attendance tracking, contract templates. You'll turn "we usually do it this way" into a process that runs without the founder.

The unglamorous work. Payroll coordination, leave, records, compliance with Malaysian labour law. Nobody claps for it, but everything breaks without it.

The hard conversations. Warnings, performance issues, the occasional difficult exit. You'll need to be fair, firm, and human, sometimes all in the same conversation.

Working directly with the founder. No layers. You'll bring problems and propose fixes, and they'll get decided quickly, often the same day.

You'll be great here if

• You have around 2–4 years of HR experience and you're ready to own more than your current role lets you
• You've worked in an SME or a fast-moving company, and chaos doesn't scare you
• You're hands-on. You don't wait for a system to exist before you do the work
• You can handle pressure: urgent hires, tight deadlines, several things at once
• You're honest enough to tell management when something is wrong
• You want to learn, and you want your next job title to be one you earned here

This is probably not for you if

• You're looking for a senior title with a team under you from day one
• You prefer a stable, predictable routine where everything is already set up
• You'd rather follow a process than create one
• You need a lot of direction before you can move
