Job Summary

Are you passionate about science and hands-on discovery? We are looking for enthusiastic Freelance Science Instructors to guide students through fun, interactive science experiments and STEM activities.

In this programme, children explore different areas of science such as chemistry, physics, earth science, and simple engineering through exciting experiments and demonstrations. Lessons focus on encouraging curiosity, observation, and problem-solving while helping students understand scientific concepts through hands-on learning.

This role is ideal for students, graduates, educators, or science enthusiasts who enjoy working with children aged 6–12 and inspiring them to explore the world of science.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging science lessons: Guide students through fun experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on science activities.

Teach basic scientific concepts: Introduce ideas such as chemical reactions, forces, energy, weather, and simple engineering.

Encourage curiosity and inquiry: Support students as they ask questions, observe results, and explore scientific ideas.

Ensure safe experiment practices: Supervise the use of materials and ensure experiments are conducted safely.

Maintain a structured and organised classroom environment: Ensure students remain engaged and the workspace is kept tidy.

Collaborate with the team: Work with programme coordinators and fellow instructors to deliver consistent sessions.

Key Requirements

• Interest or background in science, STEM, or related fields
• Enjoy working with children and supporting hands-on learning
• Responsible, organised, and confident leading small groups
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Willing to travel to various school locations across Singapore
• Willing to undergo a background check (required for school settings)
• Able to commit to weekly CCA sessions for a minimum of 6 months (excluding school holidays)

Additional Skills & Experience (Preferred but not required)

• Prior experience teaching or leading activities for children
• Background in science, engineering, or STEM education
• Experience conducting science experiments or demonstrations

Interview & Selection Process

Candidates will undergo a 3-stage interview process:

• Initial Screening (Video Call)
• Face-to-Face Session & Trial Lesson Segment
• Tryout Class (Final Review) – Conduct a supervised class session

Training Provided

Lesson materials, curriculum guidance, and instructor training will be provided.
