Role Description

The Part-Time Accountant at ZYE Design Studio will take ownership of the studio’s accounting function, ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and proper financial controls.

Key responsibilities include maintaining the full set of accounts, reconciling transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring cash flow, identifying discrepancies, and supporting budgeting and project cost tracking. The role will also handle tax computation, prepare supporting documents for annual tax submissions and audits, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Kuala Lumpur, with a combination of on-site and work-from-home flexibility.


Qualifications

  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with general ledgers, journal entries, and financial reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., cloud-based accounting tools and Microsoft Excel) for data entry and financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payment tracking, and expense reporting in a timely and accurate manner for each project.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cash flow management, and basic financial reporting to support management decisions.
  • Understanding of local financial regulations and tax requirements relevant to small businesses or design consultancies.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in a consultancy, creative, or project-based environment is beneficial but not required.
