Role Description The Group Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based Kuala Lumpur. The Group Accountant is responsible for overseeing group financial reporting, preparing consolidated financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, monitoring budgets and forecasts, and performing variance and financial performance analysis. The role also involves managing accounts payable and receivable at group level, reviewing general ledger entries, and coordinating with internal and external auditors. The Group Accountant will support process improvements, implement internal controls, and work closely with project and management teams to provide clear financial insights for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in financial accounting, group consolidation, and preparation of financial statements.
• Proficiency in management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to manage multiple entities, handle complex transactions, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in group accounting, preferably in engineering, construction, or project management environments.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and willingness to adapt in a dynamic, growth-focused organization.
