Job description:

The Kitchen Helper / Steward supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with basic food preparation and maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation across all kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen workflow, food safety compliance, and a clean working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Support & Food Preparation

• Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, peeling, and portioning ingredients
• Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and restocking items as needed
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies

Cleaning & Stewarding

• Wash, sanitise, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces
• Handle waste management, including garbage disposal and recycling
• Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used safely and correctly

Hygiene & Safety

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Report any damaged equipment, hygiene concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors

General Duties

• Support the kitchen and service teams as required
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by kitchen management

Requirements

• No prior experience required; training will be provided
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
• Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Positive attitude, reliable, and a team player

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
