Job Description & Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate clients and overseeing the delivery of accounting, financial reporting and related compliance services. The role will also supervise and guide the accounting team to ensure work is completed accurately and within the required deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the accounting team and review work performed by accounting staff.
• Handle and oversee full sets of accounts for a portfolio of corporate clients across various industries.
• Review bookkeeping records, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Prepare and review unaudited financial statements in accordance with applicable Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
• Perform month-end and year-end closing and prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review GST computations and GST returns for clients.
• Review payroll computations, CPF contributions and other payroll-related reports where required.
• Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documents for statutory audits.
• Liaise with clients, external auditors, banks and other professional parties on accounting and financial reporting matters.
• Assist clients in resolving accounting discrepancies and other accounting-related issues.
• Monitor accounting deadlines and ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist with implementation and improvement of accounting systems, internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Provide guidance, training and supervision to junior accounting staff.
• Manage client relationships and respond to clients' accounting and financial reporting enquiries.
• Perform other accounting and financial reporting duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent would be an advantage.
• At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience in a corporate services, accounting or professional services firm.
• Prior supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, financial reporting and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
• Good knowledge of GST, payroll, CPF and general Singapore accounting compliance requirements.
• Experience in preparing management accounts and unaudited financial statements.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Able to manage multiple client portfolios and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and client-management skills.
• Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently as well as lead a team.
