Hiring: R&D Project Manager | Optical Communication Test Equipment

Location: Singapore/ Penang MY

About the Client

Our client is a fast-growing global technology company specializing in high-end semiconductor and optical communication test equipment. The company develops advanced testing solutions for high-speed optical communications, semiconductor devices, silicon photonics and next-generation data center applications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead full lifecycle R&D projects, covering project planning, milestones, schedule, cost, quality and risk management.
2. Coordinate cross-functional teams across Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Test Engineering.
3. Work closely with engineering teams in Malaysia and R&D, Supply Chain, Production and Quality teams at the China HQ to ensure timely project delivery.
4. Serve as the key project interface for customers, managing requirements, project progress, technical reviews, acceptance and issue resolution.
5. Prepare project status and risk reports, conduct post-project reviews and drive continuous improvement of R&D processes.
6. Support the R&D Director in resource planning and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Project Management, Optoelectronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 5+ years of R&D Project Management experience in precision equipment, semiconductor, optical communication or related industries.
3. Proven experience managing end-to-end equipment R&D projects from planning through delivery.
4. Strong understanding of R&D project management methodologies; PMP / PMI-ACP certification is a plus.
5. Strong cross-functional and cross-regional project coordination skills, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
6. Experience delivering projects for international customers or leading technology companies is highly preferred.
7. Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
