Responsibilities

Position Summary

Provide quality engineering support across shared plant quality functions, including Quality Laboratory operations, incoming material quality, Packaging Quality Assurance, Quality Management System (QMS) administration, and external co-packer quality. The incumbent coordinates quality activities, supervises assigned quality personnel, supports manufacturing and new product initiatives through laboratory and technical services, and serves as the Plant Quality Management Representative (QMR) to ensure compliance with corporate, customer and regulatory requirements. This role will also promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements and company safety policies within all quality operations.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the Quality Laboratory to ensure timely execution of chemical analyses, battery safety testing, material qualification, and other laboratory services in support of manufacturing operations, product development, and new product introduction. Supervise assigned Laboratory Technicians to ensure quality, safety, and service requirements are met. Allocate resources and prioritize work to ensure timely delivery of quality services supporting plant operations.
  • Provide day-to-day quality engineering support for one of the operations division by supervising QA Technicians and QA Assistants, ensuring effective in-process inspections, line audits, and outgoing product verification.
  • Serve as the Plant Quality Management Representative (QMR) by maintaining the Quality Management System, coordinating internal and external certification audits, facilitating corrective actions, and ensuring continued compliance with applicable quality standards.
  • Coordinate incoming quality inspection and first article inspection activities performed by Laboratory Technicians to ensure purchased materials meet specification. Support containment, disposition, and timely follow-up of non-conforming materials with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional investigations of quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (A3, 4-Step Management, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, SPC, etc.).
  • Manage the plant calibration system to ensure measuring and testing equipment remain calibrated, traceable and fit for intended use.
  • Support product introductions, product transfers and engineering changes by ensuring quality requirements are established, validated and sustained. Partner with Engineering, Operations and Procurement to ensure successful qualification of new products, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, manufacturing capability, cost, productivity and customer satisfaction. Analyze quality performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities through statistical analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Serve as the primary quality liaison between the Plant and external co-packing partners by coordinating quality requirements, conducting quality audits and training, reviewing performance, and supporting issue resolution.


What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in supervising engineering specialists and QC inspectors (including Quality Specialists and/or Quality Technicians)
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and other customer or product certification and audit processes
  • Familiarity with the operation and calibration of various standard laboratory testing equipment will be an added advantage
  • Self-driven and proactive- able to take ownership of tasks; willing to get hands-on in troubleshooting, inspections, and problem resolution on the ground
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong team player
