Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description:

FriedRice Experience (FRE-X) is a Singapore-based immersive entertainment company that creates and operates IP-driven exhibitions, interactive experiences, and large-scale cultural events across Southeast Asia. The team partners with leading IP owners, studios, museums, and destination stakeholders to transform globally recognised brands and stories into experience-led environments powered by design, technology, and storytelling. FRE-X manages end-to-end execution, including venue operations, production, and audience engagement, to deliver high-impact experiences for local and international visitors.

Role Description:

The Manager – Exhibition & Experience Production is a full-time role based in Paya Lebar, with a hybrid arrangement of four days in-office and one day working from home, subject to project and on-site requirements.

This role oversees the end-to-end production of exhibitions and immersive experiences, including planning and delivery of assigned exhibitions, translating approved creative concepts into practical production plans and completed installations. The role coordinates budgets, schedules, vendors and project stakeholders to ensure each exhibition is delivered safely, to the agreed quality, and within approved cost and timeline parameters.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in exhibition production, experiential events, themed attractions, museum installations, interior fit-outs or comparable fabrication and installation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing projects from planning and procurement through installation and handover, with responsibility for budgets, schedules and vendors.
  • A diploma or degree in project management, construction management, exhibition or interior design, engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with substantial relevant practical experience are also welcome.
  • A practical understanding of fabrication, materials, finishes, installation methods and site logistics, with the ability to read and interpret design layouts and technical drawings.
  • Strong working knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory and approval requirements relevant to exhibition builds and temporary installations, including SCDF fire safety requirements, applicable BCA requirements, workplace safety, and venue or landowner conditions.
  • Ability to assess indoor and outdoor build feasibility, identify technical and regulatory constraints early, and coordinate the necessary reviews, permits, submissions and inspections with qualified professionals, consultants and contractors.
  • Strong budgeting, procurement and negotiation skills, including evaluating quotations, defining vendor scopes, tracking expenditure and managing variations.
  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors and managing venue requirements, including access, loading, utilities, installation restrictions and reinstatement.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain accurate project records and provide clear progress updates.
  • Sound judgement, a practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to flag risks early and recommend workable solutions.
  • Willingness to work on-site, travel when required, and accommodate evening or weekend work during key installation, opening and dismantling periods.
  • Experience with IP-driven exhibitions, licensor approval processes or touring projects would be an advantage.

The Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, stays calm under pressure and understands that a successful opening starts with thorough planning - and consistent follow-through.

  • Takes ownership: Drives assigned projects forward, follows through on commitments, and keeps stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and decisions required.
  • Plans ahead: Anticipates dependencies, approval requirements, and site constraints, addressing potential issues before they affect costs or timelines.
  • Collaborates openly: Communicates clearly and works constructively with creative teams, designers, licensors, venue representatives, consultants, and contractors.
  • Thinks practically: Finds workable solutions that preserve creative intent while balancing budget, buildability, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Stays calm and adaptable: Responds to changing requirements and on-site challenges with sound judgement, clear priorities, and practical recovery plans.
  • Holds the standard: Sets clear expectations for vendors, checks the quality of delivered work, and addresses defects or unsafe practices promptly.
  • Cares about the details: Understands that a successful exhibition depends on everything coming together - from fabrication and installation to testing, visitor readiness, and handover.
