Job Description

Responsibilities

Join The Yard and help us build a great place to work.

The Yard is a growing gymnastics organisation with four locations across Singapore, delivering recreational, competitive and high-performance gymnastics programmes to children, young people and adults.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and highly organised People & Culture Executive to take responsibility for the day-to-day HR function across the business.

This is a senior operational HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with managers and employees, and making sure that people processes are professional, consistent and well managed.

You will be the go-to person for day-to-day HR matters and will work closely with the Managing Director, Directors and Location Managers across our four locations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will oversee the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management, development and departure.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day People & Culture function across all four locations.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR matters.
  • Coordinating recruitment, interviews, offers and onboarding.
  • Managing employment contracts, amendments, renewals and employee records.
  • Coordinating probation reviews and annual performance processes.
  • Supporting managers with employee relations and performance matters.
  • Managing attendance, leave and absence processes.
  • Maintaining and developing HR policies, procedures and employee guidelines.
  • Supporting salary review and benefits administration.
  • Coordinating training and employee development.
  • Supporting Singapore employment and MOM compliance.
  • Managing HR systems, records and reporting.
  • Identifying recurring people issues and ensuring they are appropriately escalated.
  • Helping to build a positive, professional and accountable workplace culture.

A KEY PART OF THE ROLE

We are looking for someone who can work independently and confidently, while understanding the importance of working within clear management structures.

You will support managers with HR advice and processes, but you will not be expected to manage their teams for them. Line managers will remain responsible for their own teams and performance.

Similarly, this role does not carry responsibility for overall company strategy, financial performance or senior management decision-making.

Instead, you will provide the strong operational People & Culture support that allows our managers and employees to work effectively.

ABOUT YOU

You will be someone who is:

  • Experienced in HR, People & Culture or a similar role.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident dealing with people at all levels.
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and sometimes challenging conversations.
  • Professional, approachable and trustworthy.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Fair and consistent in your approach.
  • Practical, proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities across different locations.
  • Confident working independently while knowing when to seek advice or escalate an issue.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Proven experience in an HR, People & Culture or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR administration.
  • Experience dealing with employee relations and workplace issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good understanding of Singapore employment practices and HR requirements.
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.

Desirable:

  • CIPD or equivalent HR qualification.
  • Experience working in a small or medium-sized business.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations.
  • Experience with Singapore MOM and work pass processes.
  • Experience using HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Experience within education, sports, fitness, hospitality or another fast-paced service environment.

WHY JOIN THE YARD?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation where People & Culture genuinely matters.

You will have the opportunity to shape and strengthen the way we support our employees, while working closely with managers across the business.

No two days will be the same. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the employee experience, improve our HR processes and help create a workplace where people can develop, perform and enjoy being part of The Yard.

Pay: $5,500.00 - $7,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
