Job Summary

The Pastry Chef is responsible for overseeing the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in the hotel. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and excellent leadership skills to ensure high-quality products that align with the hotel’s standards.

Key Roles:

1. Plan, prepare, and execute a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, bread, and other baked goods.

2. Develop and introduce new dessert menu items, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

3. Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all pastries.

4. Monitor ingredient quality and maintain strict adherence to recipes.

5. Ensure all pastries meet hotel standards and customer expectations.

6. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, following health and safety regulations.

7. Oversee food storage and inventory management for pastry ingredients.

8. Monitor ingredient usage to minimize waste and control costs.

9. Assist in budgeting for pastry-related purchases and maintain cost-effective production.

10. Supervise and train pastry team members, ensuring efficiency and skill development.

11. Assign tasks, manage schedules, and maintain a smooth workflow in the pastry section.

12. Motivate staff to enhance creativity and maintain a high-performance kitchen environment.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably in a 5 Star branded hotel or high-end restaurant.

2. Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or related field.

3. Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and food safety regulations.

4. Creative mindset with the ability to innovate and develop new recipes.

Leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
