Responsibilities
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Master Data Analyst is primarily responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, quality, integrity and governance of Product, Customer and Vendor Master Data across relevant business systems. The role also supports business intelligence activities by preparing, validating and reconciling data, maintaining existing dashboards and reports, and assisting with routine BAU reporting requirements. The position supports ERP, Product Information Management and other data transformation initiatives by ensuring that master data is accurate, complete and ready for operational and reporting use.
2. OPERATING CONTEXT
Based in Puchong, Malaysia, the role supports multiple entities with diverse operations across different countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
3. AUTONOMY
The Master Data Analyst works with moderate autonomy, independently managing routine data maintenance, validation and reporting within established policies and data governance standards. Complex issues are escalated to the manager. Performance is measured by data accuracy, timely delivery, stakeholder satisfaction and contributions to process improvement.
4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Create, update and maintain Product, Customer and Vendor Master Data in accordance with approved procedures and data standards.
· Validate master data requests for completeness, accuracy and the required approvals before processing.
· Conduct regular data-quality checks and resolve duplicate, incomplete or inconsistent records.
· Support data cleansing, migration, validation and reconciliation for ERP, Master Data and related projects.
· Investigate master data issues and coordinate their resolution with business owners, IT and relevant process owners.
· Maintain master data procedures, field definitions, validation rules, workflows and data dictionaries.
· Identify opportunities to improve or automate master data processes.
· Support compliance with data governance requirements, access controls and approval processes.
· Maintain, refresh and validate existing operational dashboards and routine reports.
· Prepare and reconcile data for scheduled business reporting.
· Investigate discrepancies between source systems and business intelligence reports.
· Support minor updates and improvements to existing reports and dashboards.
· Assist in gathering and documenting business reporting requirements.
· Coordinate with business intelligence or IT specialists where changes require new data models, system integration or complex development.
· Maintain report definitions, refresh schedules and supporting documentation.
