Responsibilities

About the Role

Sia is seeking to grow their team of management consultant(across different seniorities) to support a tax remediation engagement for a leading financial services client. This is a 3-month, onsite contract role for a practitioner who can move quickly from diagnosis to remediation, working alongside the client's tax, compliance, and risk functions to close identified gaps and strengthen the control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment of existing tax positions, processes, and controls to identify gaps against regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Design and execute remediation plans, including corrective filings, process redesign, and control enhancements.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders in tax, compliance, legal, and operations to validate findings and agree remediation priorities.
  • Prepare clear, structured documentation and status reporting for client leadership and regulators where applicable.
  • Identify root causes of tax and compliance issues and recommend sustainable process or control improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to workstream planning, tracking, and escalation of risks or delays to the engagement lead.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience in tax remediation, tax operations, or tax reporting work within financial services.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to financial institutions (for example, tax reporting, withholding, or information reporting obligations).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational remediation steps.
  • Experience working directly with client stakeholders in a consulting, advisory, or in-house capacity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and reporting for senior audiences.
  • Comfortable working onsite at a client location for the duration of the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in a Big Four, consulting, or financial services tax/compliance function.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulatory regimes.
  • Professional qualification in tax, accounting, or law (e.g., CPA, CTA, JD, or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
