Our client is a European global player of specialty food ingredients, serving local and international clients in Asia. They are currently seeking a Sales Manager Malaysia & Singapore to join their team in Petaling Jaya.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales, building customer relationships, and expanding market presence within the industry. Reporting to the APAC Sales Director based in Singapore, you will play a crucial role in expanding the company footprint in the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and execute targeted sales plans to increase market share and achieve annual revenue objectives within Malaysia and Singapore
- Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with food and beverage manufacturers, industrial bakeries, and key industry accounts.
- Manage, retain, and expand relationships within the existing customer and distributor network.
- Conduct technical product presentations, coordinate sample trials with application laboratories, and manage commercial negotiations through to closing.
- Collaborate closely with regional technical and supply chain teams to ensure efficient product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activities, and regulatory requirements within the region.
TARGET CUSTOMER PROFILE & KEY ACCOUNTS
The Sales Manager will focus on mid-to-large-scale food manufacturers, with a strong emphasis on the bakery, confectionery, snack, and dairy sectors. Representative target accounts in the region include:
- Malaysia: Industrial and commercial bakeries such as Gardenia Bakeries, The Italian Baker (Massimo), The Baker's Cottage, and major regional biscuit/confectionery producers.
- Singapore: Established food and biscuit manufacturers such as Khong Guan Biscuit Factory, BreadTalk Group, Sunshine Bakeries, and major central kitchens supplying retail and food service chains.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably within the food ingredients, or specialty chemicals sectors.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude to effectively communicate with R&D, procurement, and technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation competencies.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently within a lean, regional structure.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
