Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily logistics and cargo operations.

Arrange transportation, container trucking, cargo delivery, collection, stuffing, unstuffing, transloading, and warehousing activities.

Coordinate with customers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, warehouse personnel, subcontractors, PSA terminals, and relevant authorities.

Prepare and maintain operational documents, including delivery orders, job orders, permits, gate passes, cargo records, checklists, and supporting documentation.

Track shipment and job progress and provide timely updates to customers and management.

Attend site surveys and operational activities at ports, terminals, warehouses, vessels, and customers’ premises when required.

Coordinate manpower, vehicles, lifting equipment, tools, and other resources required for each operation.

Assist in planning special cargo-handling, salvage, recovery, reworking, and container-related operations.

Verify cargo details, quantities, dimensions, weights, container numbers, and operational requirements before commencing work.

Ensure that risk assessments, method statements, lifting plans, permits, and safety requirements are in place before operations begin.

Conduct or participate in toolbox meetings and ensure that workers and subcontractors follow approved work procedures.

Monitor workplace safety and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, cargo damage, delays, and operational irregularities.

Prepare operational reports, photographs, service records, timesheets, and job-completion documents.

Review suppliers’ and subcontractors’ service records and assist in verifying operational costs and invoices.

Respond promptly to customers’ enquiries and assist in resolving operational issues.

Maintain proper filing and accurate records for completed and ongoing jobs.

Perform other logistics and operational duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Diploma or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

Relevant experience in logistics, freight forwarding, container operations, transportation, warehousing, port operations, or cargo handling is preferred.

Candidates without relevant experience may be considered if they are willing to learn.

Familiarity with PSA terminal procedures, port operations, shipping documentation, and Singapore logistics practices will be an advantage.

Basic knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessment, lifting operations, and cargo-handling procedures is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications.

Able to prepare professional emails, operational reports, and supporting documents.

Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Able to work independently and as part of an operational team.

Responsible, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working under pressure.

Willing to work at ports, terminals, warehouses, vessels, and other operational locations.

Willing to work beyond normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays, when operationally required.
