Senior QA Engineer / QA Tester

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer / QA Tester with strong experience in software quality assurance, test planning, execution, defect management, and end-to-end testing.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring application quality across the software development lifecycle and working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Conduct SIT and UAT activities and coordinate with business users.
• Identify, document, track, and manage defects through to closure.
• Perform root-cause analysis for application defects and issues.
• Review business and functional requirements to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Develop and maintain traceability between requirements and test cases.
• Validate application functionality against agreed business requirements.
• Perform regression testing following application enhancements and defect fixes.
• Prepare test execution reports, defect reports, and testing evidence.
• Work closely with developers and Business Analysts to investigate and resolve issues.
• Support release validation and post-production testing.
• Contribute to improving QA processes, standards, and testing practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience in software QA/testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in manual testing and end-to-end testing.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression, SIT, and UAT testing.
• Good understanding of defect lifecycle and test management.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of SQL and database validation.
• Experience testing web-based and enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Niche / Preferred Skills

• Experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
• Exposure to test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with REST/SOAP API testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps testing practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to performance, security, or mobile application testing is an advantage.
• Experience with enterprise applications, system integrations, or complex digital platforms.

Candidates should be currently based in Malaysia and available to work in Kuala Lumpur.
