Job Description

Responsibilities

Organization:

The AUW Support Foundation (Hong Kong) is a registered nonprofit that advances the mission of the Asian University for Women (AUW) through fundraising, strategic partnerships, communications, and donor engagement across Hong Kong, mainland China, and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Established in 2008, AUW is an independent, international university in Chittagong, Bangladesh, dedicated to educating exceptional women from across Asia and the Middle East, particularly those from marginalized and refugee communities. Today, AUW educates more than 2,100 students from 22 countries, with more than 90% receiving full financial support. The AUW Support Foundation (AUWSF) offers a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where staff work closely with senior leadership, international partners, philanthropists, corporations, foundations, and volunteers to advance AUW's global mission. AUWSF provides a fast-paced work environment with new projects frequently on the horizon and strong opportunity for growth.

The Role:

The Program Associate plays an important role in advancing AUW's fundraising, communications, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement across Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. Working closely with the Hong Kong Board, AUW leadership, and colleagues across multiple international offices, the successful candidate will support donor cultivation, proposal development, strategic communications, events, research, and project management.

The Program Associate will:

  • Support the Hong Kong Board in advancing AUW's strategic priorities by coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, drafting minutes, developing briefing papers and strategy documents, and following up on agreed actions.
  • Conduct prospect research on individuals, corporations, foundations, universities, and institutional partners, while supporting donor cultivation through meeting preparation, correspondence, follow-up, and stewardship activities.
  • Coordinate AUW's annual Hong Kong Summer Internship Programme by building relationships with employer partners, managing internship logistics, and providing professional and pastoral support to participating students throughout their placements.
  • Assist in planning and delivering fundraising events, donor receptions, and other outreach activities, including venue coordination, invitations, event materials, guest management, and post-event stewardship.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate, philanthropic, and academic partners across Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific region, accompanying Board members and senior leadership to meetings where appropriate.
  • Develop high-quality communications materials, including donor correspondence, presentations, newsletters, impact stories, social media content, and promotional materials that strengthen AUW's visibility and fundraising efforts.
  • Work closely with AUW leadership and colleagues across the University's international offices to coordinate projects, monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and support the successful delivery of Foundation initiatives.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a highly organized, proactive, and resourceful professional who is comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional correspondence and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • The confidence to work independently, take initiative, and proactively identify opportunities to support fundraising, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent AUW professionally when engaging with Board members, donors, corporate partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information into concise briefing notes, presentations, and reports.
  • A collaborative approach and the flexibility to work across multiple teams, projects, and international time zones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with Canva, CRM/fundraising databases, or event management is an advantage.
  • A bachelor's degree and at least 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising, communications, nonprofit management, higher education, events, partnerships, or a related field.
