About the Role

We are looking for a Biogas Plant Operator to join our operations team at our biogas plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring and basic maintenance of plant equipment and processes to ensure safe, stable and efficient plant operations.

This is a hands-on operational position suitable for candidates with SPM or Certificate-level qualifications who are interested in working in a one-of-a-kind biogas plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor biogas plant equipment and systems according to operating procedures.
• Monitor the operation of the Material Recovery Facility ("MRF"), Anaerobic Digestion ("AD") system, Biogas Upgrading Plant ("BUP"), Wastewater Treatment Plant ("WWTP") and other plant equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of pumps, motors, blowers, conveyors, tanks, pipelines, valves and other equipment.
• Record plant operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, pH, levels and other relevant readings.
• Monitor the biogas production process and report any abnormalities or equipment issues to the Operations Supervisor.
• Assist with start-up, shutdown and changeover of plant equipment.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor operational adjustments where required.
• Carry out routine housekeeping and maintain cleanliness of the plant and work areas.
• Assist with basic maintenance activities and coordinate with the maintenance team or contractors when required.
• Handle and operate plant equipment such as forklifts, excavators and other machinery, where required and subject to appropriate authorization/training.
• Follow all Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) procedures, Permit-to-Work requirements and operating procedures.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings and emergency response activities.
• Maintain accurate operation logs, checklists and records.
• Perform other duties related to plant operations as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Operations Head.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or Certificate qualification in any relevant field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in a biogas plant, wastewater treatment plant, manufacturing plant, waste management facility, power plant or other industrial environment will be an advantage.
• Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays according to the plant's shift schedule.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial environment.
• Able to follow instructions, SOPs and safety procedures.
• Responsible, disciplined and willing to learn.
• Basic computer skills are an advantage.
• Candidates with forklift, excavator or other machinery operating experience will be an advantage.
