Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Costing Executive to strengthen financial controls, ensure accurate inventory tracking, and support cost management across the production cycle. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory valuation, performing cost analysis, and providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency and business performance in a process-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost reports covering material, labour, and overhead costs associated with production and recycling processes.
- Manage and reconcile inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, semi-finished goods, and finished goods while ensuring accurate inventory valuation.
- Perform regular inventory reconciliations by comparing physical inventory counts with ERP system records and investigate any discrepancies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities for production costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to improve inventory accuracy and streamline inventory management processes.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reports, and analysis related to inventory, costing, and compliance matters.
- Coordinate with Business Development teams to monitor supplier costs and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of sourcing activities.
- Analyze production data to identify cost trends, assess material yields, and evaluate operational profitability.
- Assist in monthly financial closing activities, including inventory valuation, cost allocation, and account reconciliations.
- Generate cost variance, margin analysis, and management reports to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Provide financial analysis and ad-hoc reports to support management decision-making and strategic initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of Incoterms to ensure accurate landed cost calculations and assess risk allocation in supplier agreements and international shipments.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments.
- Experience within the precious metals industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and inventory management practices.
- Experience with ERP systems; involvement in ERP implementation projects is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP software, including Deskera, AutoCount, Odoo, or similar systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with Incoterms and landed cost calculations is preferred.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present financial findings to management.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
