Job Summary:
The operator will be responsible for handling disk substrates, operating process equipment, performing accurate data entry, managing chemical operations including transfer and preparation, and maintaining inventory within a controlled cleanroom environment. The operator must strictly adhere to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and attendance reliability.
Job Description
Substrate Handling
- Perform loading and unloading of disk substrates on process equipment in accordance with established SOPs
- Handle substrates with care to prevent contamination, damage, or quality defects
- Ensure proper cassette/carrier management and substrate traceability at all times
Machine Operation
- Operate process machines and equipment as assigned, following standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Perform equipment startup, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting in accordance with approved procedures
- Conduct routine equipment checks and preventive maintenance tasks at operator level (e.g., cleaning, inspection, lubrication where applicable)
- Monitor machine status and process parameters continuously during operation and report any abnormal conditions to the responsible engineer immediately
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards
Data Entry & Documentation
- Accurately key in process data, production records, and equipment logs into manufacturing systems
- Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation in compliance with quality management requirements
- Identify and report data discrepancies or anomalies to the responsible engineer promptly
Chemical Handling & Transfer
- Assist in chemical makeup and preparation according to specified formulations and safety guidelines
- Perform chemical transfer activities between storage containers, process tanks, and designated areas in a safe and controlled manner following approved procedures
- Ensure proper use of chemical transfer equipment such as pumps, hoses, and funnels, and inspect them for integrity before use
- Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals in full compliance with MSDS/SDS requirements and company safety policies
- Monitor chemical levels, usage, and bath conditions, and report any irregularities or spills immediately
- Participate in chemical replenishment activities to support uninterrupted production operations
Inventory Management
- Conduct regular inventory counts for consumables, chemicals, and materials
- Maintain accurate stock records and notify relevant personnel for replenishment when required
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of all inventory items
Process Control & Adjustment
- Monitor process parameters and perform necessary adjustments when process outputs are out of specification, following approved standard procedures
- Escalate process abnormalities beyond operator authority to the responsible engineer immediately
- Participate in process improvement and corrective action activities when required
Cleanroom Operations
- Operate within a controlled cleanroom environment, strictly adhering to cleanroom protocols and gowning procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the work area at all times
- Comply with all environmental monitoring and contamination control requirements
Safety & PPE Compliance
- Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during task execution, including but not limited to cleanroom garments, gloves, goggles, face shield, and chemical-resistant gear where applicable
- Actively participate in safety training, toolbox meetings, and safety audits
- Follow all chemical safety handling protocols during transfer and makeup activities
- Report near-misses, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately to the supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to 7S housekeeping and workplace safety regulations (e.g., PPE use, chemical handling).
- Participate in training programs to develop technical skills.
- Work closely with senior technicians and supervisors to gain hands-on experience.
- Adhere to process instructions and report for any abnormalities observed for further verification.
- Ability to learn and rotate across multiple process areas
REQUIRED:
- SPM or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays if required
- Physically fit - Able to transport handle heavy jig / chemical transportation follow the guideline as required by the operation
