We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support the design, implementation, maintenance, security, and performance of Oracle database systems supporting production operations. The role will provide 24/7 Level 2 support and act as the subject matter expert for database-related operations and incidents.
Mandatory Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field;
- Must have experience in Oracle Database Administration;
- Must have proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL;
- Knowledge of Oracle architecture, backup & recovery, and performance tuning;
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix, filesystem management, and Cron jobs;
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skil
- Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call support and incident response.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with database monitoring and production support;
- Experience in Oracle backup, recovery, failover, switchover, and disaster recovery;
- Exposure to Oracle patching, upgrades, and database change/release management;
- Experience supporting database audit, security, and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor database health, availability, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools, and investigate and resolve database alerts, incidents, and performance issues;
- Provide 24/7 Level 2 support and incident response for Oracle databases supporting production operations;
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database software, tools, and storage structures including tablespaces, objects, and indexes;
- Review, plan, and execute database changes in accordance with IT change management procedures, including application deployments, database releases, and schema migrations;
- Assess risks and develop rollback plans for production database changes;
- Conduct periodic failover, switchover, backup, and disaster recovery tests;Identify, test, and implement Oracle patches, updates, and service packs;
- Implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data and support business continuity;Support database audits, security reviews, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to security and data retention policies;
- Maintain database administration documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
