About Lumée BTW

Lumée BTW is a small, purpose-driven café with a unique “Behind the Wall” concept. We serve coffee, food and signature beverages made using locally grown Sabah herbs.

As a social enterprise, we aim to support local community herb growers while creating employment, learning and income-generating opportunities for local youth. We are looking for someone who believes in our mission and is willing to grow together with our café.

About the Position

We are looking for a committed, responsible and hardworking Full-Time Café Service Crew / Barista.

The right candidate should genuinely enjoy café work, take pride in keeping the workplace clean and provide friendly service to every customer. As we are a small team, you must be willing to help with different responsibilities and take ownership of the café’s daily operations.

Previous café or food-and-beverage experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee, tea, herbal beverages and other drinks according to Lumée BTW’s recipes.
• Prepare and serve nachos, dim sum and other café food.
• Learn about the local herbs used in our beverages and explain them confidently to customers.
• Introduce customers to Lumée BTW’s social mission and community products.
• Welcome customers, take orders accurately and provide friendly service.
• Handle payments and operate the POS system.
• Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café.
• Clean equipment, preparation areas, counters, utensils, floors and customer areas.
• Complete daily opening and closing duties.
• Monitor ingredients, packaging materials and stock levels.
• Refill supplies and inform management when stocks are running low.
• Follow all recipes, portion sizes and food-safety procedures.
• Assist with café promotions, events and simple social-media content when required.
• Work together with the team and assist with other reasonable café duties.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a café, restaurant or food-and-beverage environment is preferred.
• Barista or beverage-preparation experience is an advantage.
• Committed, hardworking, responsible and trustworthy.
• Clean, organised and highly attentive to hygiene.
• Friendly, patient and respectful when serving customers.
• Willing to learn about local Sabah herbs and Lumée BTW’s social mission.
• Able to follow recipes and working procedures accurately.
• Able to take initiative without waiting to be instructed for every task.
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Punctual and committed to maintaining good attendance.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays according to schedule.
• Interested in stable, long-term employment and growing with the café.

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
