Job Description

Responsibilities

This role resides under MISC Marine (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).


Key Accountabilities

1. Cadet Recruitment & Selection

  • Plan, coordinate and participate in cadet recruitment exercises, including assessment and selection of sponsored and non-sponsored candidates, ensuring candidates meet the Company’s eligibility, competency and sponsorship requirements within the approved annual intake and budget.


2. Cadet Sponsorship & Agreement Management

  • Prepare, administer and maintain Cadet Sponsorship Agreements and related documentation, ensuring timely registration, orientation and compliance with the agreed sponsorship terms and Company requirements.


3. Cadet Development & Performance Management

  • Monitor and track cadets’ academic, practical and overall development throughout the cadetship programme. Provide appropriate mentoring and engagement to promote discipline, commitment and achievement of the required academic and competency standards within the prescribed programme duration.


4. Cadet Welfare, Engagement & Discipline

  • Act as a key point of contact for cadets and their families on matters relating to sponsorship, performance, welfare and discipline. Address concerns promptly and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to support cadet well-being and successful completion of the programme.


5. Shipboard Training & Berth Management

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the availability and allocation of shipboard training berths for cadets, ensuring timely placement and compliance with pre-joining, certification, medical and documentation requirements. Monitor onboard progress to ensure cadets obtain the required sea-time and practical exposure.


6. Cadet Training Cost & Budget Management

  • Monitor and administer cadet recruitment and training expenditure, including administration, medical, visa, training, allowance and other related costs, within the approved annual budget. Ensure expenditure is properly recorded in Coupa and supported by the required purchase orders and documentation.


7. Cadet Claims & Financial Administration

  • Process and monitor cadet claims through the Crew Management System, ensuring claims are accurate, properly supported and processed within the prescribed timelines and applicable Company requirements.


8. Cadet Data & Management Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely cadet records, movements, training status and development information in the Crew Management System, Seagull and other relevant systems. Provide accurate data and reports to support management decision-making, workforce planning and cadet programme monitoring.


9. Cadetship Cost & Breach of Cadetship (BOC) Management

  • Prepare and maintain the complete statement of cadetship costs, including training fees, modular courses, joining and repatriation expenses, allowances, deductions, medical and other related costs. Support the administration and management of Breach of Cadetship cases in accordance with the applicable Cadetship Agreement and Company requirements.



Job Requirements

Education

  • Degree holder i.e in Business Administration & Management/ Training & Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.


Experience

  • Ideally at least 1 years of relevant HR generalist experience, ideally in global shipping organisations which provides the opportunities to experience best practices
  • Knowledge in various maritime legislation and STCW95 requirements,
