Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain safe work conditions consistently throughout the project's lifecycle, continuously monitoring and addressing potential hazards.
* Conduct practical safety training programs, including toolbox talks and safety awareness workshops, ensuring all workers understand and comply with safety protocols.
* Supervise and mentor workers proactively, reducing safety and health risks during all stages of onsite activities.
* Assist SHO for accident and incident investigations promptly, reporting outcomes to supervisors and recommending corrective measures.
* Perform daily workplace safety inspections, identify unsafe acts and conditions, and coordinate immediate corrective actions to prevent incidents.
* Conduct hazard assessments for all controlled activities, document findings, and establish effective preventive strategies.
* Compile, analyze, and report safety performance data and statistics to management, facilitating informed decision-making.
Oversee and ensure subcontractors adhere to all safety and health regulations and organizational standards.
* Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions following any safety non-compliance issues.
* Review and regulate issuance of Permits to Work and task statements, ensuring pre-task briefings are conducted and documented.
* Foster a safety-first culture by communicating clearly that safety is a shared line responsibility and motivating all personnel to engage fully in safety programs.
* Maintain and update safety procedures and systems in response to evolving legal requirements and site-specific challenges.
* Collaborate closely with site and project management teams to integrate safety practices seamlessly into all operational facets.
* Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including routine inspections to uphold compliance and worker safety.
* Champion open communication channels encouraging the reporting of unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents in a no-reprisal environment
* Stay current with local, national, and international safety regulations and best practices to continually enhance the company's safety performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Certified Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with valid certification (DOSH/NIOSH-recognized).
* Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma (depending on company preference).
* 2–3 years site safety experience, preferably in construction / engineering / project site environment.
* Strong knowledge of:
-Safe work practices, site inspections, toolbox talks
-Hazard identification & risk control (HIRARC support)
-Permit-to-Work (PTW), method statements, incident reporting
* Able to conduct daily safety inspections, support accident investigation, and prepare safety reports.
* Good communication skills to brief workers and coordinate with subcontractors.
* First Aid / Fire Fighting / ERT certification is an added advantage.
Pay: RM3,200.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
