Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Application Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Mainframe DB2 on z/OS administration and data migration.
• The role is responsible for database setup, administration, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, database design reviews, SQL tuning, and operational support.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in migrating data from Mainframe DB2 on z/OS to flat files using scripts or tools within the mainframe environment and ensuring database reliability, performance, and compliance with governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Mainframe DB2 on z/OS databases in production and non-production environments.
• Perform database setup, configuration, maintenance, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Plan and execute database migrations, including migration of data from Mainframe DB2 on z/OS to flat files using scripts or mainframe tools.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Analyze and tune SQL queries and database objects to improve application performance.
• Review database designs and recommend improvements to data models based on business and application requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Mainframe DB2 on z/OS Database Administrator.
• Strong expertise in DB2 for z/OS database administration, support, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in data migration from Mainframe DB2 on z/OS to flat files using scripts, utilities, or mainframe tools.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and SQL performance tuning.
• Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
