Job Summary 

The Marketing & Communications Executive/Senior Executive supports the planning and execution of UNGCMBC’s marketing and communications activities, with a primary focus on social media, digital content, media engagement, audience engagement, and organisational visibility. The role works closely with internal teams to translate programme, event, and organisational updates into engaging content and communications for different audiences. The role will also support media outreach, campaign activities, content planning, and performance tracking to strengthen UNGCMBC’s presence and engagement across relevant channels.


Key Responsibilities


Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Plan and execute social media content across UNGCMBC’s relevant digital platforms.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with organisational priorities, campaigns, programmes, and events.
  • Create and coordinate engaging digital content, including copy, visuals, and short-form video.
  • Monitor social media trends and performance to identify opportunities to improve reach and engagement.
  • Support the management and maintenance of UNGCMBC’s website and other digital channels where required.


Media Engagement & Publicity

  • Support media engagement activities to strengthen UNGCMBC’s visibility and positioning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media contacts and platforms.
  • Identify opportunities for media coverage, interviews, features, and thought leadership.
  • Prepare media pitches, press materials, media statements, and other publicity content.
  • Coordinate media engagement activities and monitor relevant media coverage.


Marketing Campaigns & Audience Engagement

  • Support the planning and execution of marketing and awareness campaigns.
  • Develop campaign messaging and content for different audiences and communication channels.
  • Support the promotion of UNGCMBC’s programmes, events, initiatives, and organisational activities.
  • Monitor campaign performance and audience response, and recommend improvements where appropriate.


Content Development & Storytelling

  • Draft, edit, and refine content for social media, website, email, events, media, and other communication channels.
  • Translate programme, technical, or organisational information into clear and engaging content.
  • Identify stories, achievements, milestones, and organisational developments suitable for external communication.
  • Work with internal teams to gather information, verify content, and obtain necessary approvals.


Corporate & Stakeholder Communications

  • Develop communications for members, partners, corporates, SMEs, policymakers, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Support internal communications, including organisational updates and key announcements.
  • Adapt communications according to the intended audience, purpose, channel, and level of formality.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across different communication channels and stakeholder touchpoints.


Content Planning & Coordination

  • Maintain and coordinate content calendars across marketing and communications activities.
  • Coordinate content inputs, timelines, approvals, and publishing schedules with relevant teams.
  • Prepare content briefs and coordinate with designers, agencies, or other external parties where required.
  • Support the development and maintenance of content templates, communication materials, and marketing assets.


Brand & Communications Quality Control

  • Ensure marketing and communications materials adhere to UNGCMBC’s brand guidelines, tone, terminology, and visual identity.
  • Proofread and quality-check content before publication or distribution.
  • Ensure public-facing communications are accurate, credible, and appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Support consistent representation of UNGCMBC across digital, media, marketing, and stakeholder-facing channels.


Marketing & Communications Reporting

  • Track key marketing and communications metrics, including social media engagement, reach, audience growth, website performance, and media coverage.
  • Prepare periodic reports or updates on marketing and communications performance.
  • Analyse performance and audience data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain records of campaigns, media coverage, and content performance.


Requirements

  • Executive: 1–2 years, or Senior Executive: 3–5 years, of experience in marketing, communications, digital marketing, social media, public relations, media relations, or related roles.
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in English.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media content and digital communication channels.
  • Experience in media engagement, public relations, or media outreach is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of social media platforms, digital content formats, and audience engagement.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging and relevant content.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail and editorial judgement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and translate technical or complex information into accessible content.
  • Ability to monitor and interpret marketing and communications performance metrics.
  • For non-Malaysian candidates, a valid visa to work in Malaysia is required.
