Job Description
Responsibilities
Product Designer
Owns product experiences end-to-end: from problem framing and interaction design through to shipped UI, using AI-assisted development tools to build and deliver designs directly in the product codebase — no designer-to-engineer handoff. Works day-to-day with PM and engineering, validates ideas through working prototypes rather than static mocks, and upholds design-system consistency across the product.
Key responsibilities:
- Design user experiences for product features — interaction flows, information architecture, visual design
- Build working prototypes to explore, validate, and communicate design ideas
- Implement and ship designs in the production codebase using AI coding tools, through standard code review
- Apply and uphold the company design system; reuse established patterns over bespoke ones
- Present and document design rationale to stakeholders
Required skills for hiring:
Must-have skills:
1. Strong product design fundamentals, including interaction design, information architecture, visual/UI design, user flows, wireframes, and responsive layouts.
2. Hands-on prototyping ability using tools such as Figma or equivalent, with the ability to quickly convert concepts into clickable or testable prototypes.
3. Design-system experience, including working with component libraries, reusable patterns, UI states, spacing, typography, accessibility, and consistency standards.
4. Strong design communication skills, with the ability to explain design rationale clearly to product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
Technical and AI-assisted delivery skills:
5. Practical fluency with AI-assisted coding/design tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, v0, or similar tools, with the ability to guide outputs using clear design intent and review generated code critically.
6. Front-end technical literacy, including HTML, CSS, component-based UI concepts, responsive behavior, accessibility basics, and the ability to judge whether implementation matches the intended design.
7. Basic development workflow experience, including Git, branches, pull/merge requests, code review feedback, and collaboration within an engineering repository.
Preferred skills:
Ways of working:
8. Comfort with ambiguity — designing where requirements emerge through building
9. Ability to work independently with product and engineering teams, convert loosely defined requirements into practical solutions, and drive work through to production release.
10. Strong craft orientation, with attention to spacing, typography, visual hierarchy, interaction states, motion, edge cases, and overall UI polish.
11. Experience with usability testing, user research inputs, analytics, or A/B testing to validate design decisions would be an advantage.
12. Understanding of product thinking, business goals, prioritization trade-offs, and how design decisions influence user adoption and product outcomes.
