Reporting to: CEO / President / Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) / COO
I. Position Overview
We are seeking a Vice President of Strategy Execution with exceptional capabilities in strategy execution, corporate transformation, operations management, and cross-functional leadership.
The core mission of this role is not merely to formulate strategy, but to translate the company's long-term strategy into clear annual objectives, strategic projects, resource allocation plans, and quantifiable business outcomes.
The VP of Strategy Execution will serve as a direct link between the CEO, the senior leadership team, and various business units. They will establish an enterprise-wide strategy execution framework, drive the implementation of key strategic projects, and continuously monitor the achievement of strategic goals.
II. Core Responsibilities
1. Corporate Strategy Execution
Establish an Enterprise Strategy Execution Framework;
Break down the company's long-term strategy into annual, quarterly, and monthly execution targets;
Align strategic objectives with departmental KPIs;
Define project owners, timelines, and expected outcomes for strategic projects;
Regularly assess the progress of strategy execution;
Ensure that corporate strategy is effectively translated into business results.
2. Strategic Project Management
Lead key corporate strategic initiatives;
Manage the strategic project portfolio;
Prioritize strategic projects;
Oversee project progress, budgets, resources, and outcomes;
Identify obstacles to project execution;
Develop corrective action plans for significant deviations.
3. Strategic Objective Breakdown
Further decompose strategic objectives set by the CEO and the Board of Directors:
Corporate Strategy → Strategic Objectives → Department Goals → KPIs → Projects → Business Results
Ensure that all departments clearly understand their strategic responsibilities.
4. Cross-Functional Execution
Coordinate across:
Product
Engineering
Sales
Marketing
Operations
Finance
Customer Success
HR
Business Development
Establish cross-functional collaboration mechanisms to reduce organizational silos and accelerate the pace of strategy execution.
5. Business Transformation
Lead business transformation projects;
Develop a transformation roadmap;
Drive optimization of the organization, processes, and business models;
Manage major organizational changes;
Drive digital transformation;
Evaluate the business value of transformation projects. 6. Strategic Performance Management
Establish an enterprise-level Strategic Performance Management system:
Strategic KPIs
OKRs
Executive Dashboard
Quarterly Business Reviews
Strategic Performance Reviews
Continuously monitor strategic execution results through data.
7. Resource Allocation
Allocate resources based on strategic priorities;
Manage strategic project budgets;
Evaluate project ROI;
Optimize investments in human capital, technology, and financial capital;
Ensure key resources are dedicated to high-priority strategic projects.
8. Executive Decision Support
Provide strategic execution reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team;
Prepare materials for quarterly strategic reviews;
Analyze gaps between strategic objectives and actual results;
Provide analysis on execution risks and business trends;
Support major business decisions.
9. Strategic Risk Management
Establish a Strategic Risk Management mechanism;
Identify risks associated with strategic execution;
Implement a risk early-warning system;
Manage major execution issues;
Develop risk mitigation plans;
Ensure the continued progress of key strategic projects.
10. Building Organizational Execution Capability
Establish a results-oriented management mechanism;
Drive strategic reviews and "after-action" analyses;
Implement an accountability framework;
Enhance the execution capabilities of the management team;
Foster a culture of continuous improvement;
Drive the organization toward high execution excellence.
III. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field;
MBA or EMBA preferred.
Work Experience
25+ years of experience in strategy, operations, project management, corporate transformation, or business management;
15+ years of experience in senior strategic/operational management;
Experience as VP of Strategy, VP of Strategy Execution, Chief Strategy Officer, Strategy Director, or equivalent;
Experience managing strategic projects in large enterprises;
Experience in cross-functional business transformation;
Experience with global operations or complex B2B organizations preferred.
