Kin Hospitality Management Sdn Bhd is currently seeking for an experienced and hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the hotel’s Engineering Department. This is an operational position requiring active involvement in troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily engineering and maintenance operations.
- Take a hands-on role in troubleshooting equipment faults and breakdowns.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs and improvement works.
- Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other hotel building systems.
- Use maintenance-management systems and digital tools to track work orders, equipment history and departmental performance.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly and monthly engineering reports for Management.
- Report on equipment condition, outstanding repairs, preventive maintenance, utilities, expenses, incidents and project progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety, fire and statutory requirements.
- Manage budgets, contractors, service agreements and renovation projects.
- Monitor utilities and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Train and develop the maintenance team.
- Respond promptly to emergencies while minimising disruption to guests.
Requirements
- Minimum eight years’ relevant engineering or maintenance experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hotel mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building systems.
- Experience in a five-star hotel or resort is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
- Relevant degree/diploma/ technical qualification or training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Able to use computerised maintenance-management systems, work-order platforms and other digital reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
- Able to produce clear engineering, maintenance, utility, budget and project reports.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work flexible hours and respond personally to operational emergencies.
Pay: From RM10,000.00 per month
