Full Time Science Lab Technician Jobs, in Taylor's Education Group WP Kuala Lumpur - Maukerja

Science Lab Technician is required to commence January 2027. The Science Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing technical and operational support to the Science Department.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation for lessons -liaising with teachers to ensure materials and equipment are provided for lessons as requested and securely stored afterwards.

• Maintenance of equipment including cleaning, replacement of parts, periodic servicing and repairing.

• Maintenance of stock - organisation of store-cupboards, security, maintenance of inventory and replacement of consumable stock. Ordering, receiving and cataloguing of materials and equipment.

• Ensuring that health and safety procedures are followed at all times and that all laboratories are maintained in a safe and healthy manner.

• Providing the teacher with technical support during practical lessons as required.

• Liaising with other technicians to ensure adequate provision across the faculty and ensure equitability.

• Preparation for the external IGCSE and AS examinations.

• Ability to work in high pressure situations where effective time management and organisation is crucial (for eg. Preparing for external exams).

• Ability to communicate with and work effectively with students.

• A good command of spoken and written English (to communicate effectively with teachers and understand installation and maintenance instructions of equipment  written in English).

• An awareness and recognition of the importance of Health and Safety.

• ICT competence and a basic understanding of basic office and googledocs applications.

• Must be well aware about the rules and regulations of lab.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Professional Degree in Science/Laboratory Technology or related field.

• Most recent work experience with an international school is preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience working as a laboratory technician.
