READY TO SHAPE PEOPLE STRATEGY IN A FAST-MOVING AUTOMOTIVE-TECH BUSINESS?
Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) | Individual Contributor
Be the strategic people partner behind business growth at the intersection of automotive and technology.
At Carro, our People & Culture team partners closely with business leaders to build high-performing teams, strengthen organisational capability and create an environment where exceptional talent can thrive.
We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who is commercially minded, data-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, technology-led and constantly evolving environment.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who enjoys being close to the business — partnering directly with leaders, solving people challenges, driving organisational change and turning business priorities into practical people strategies.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with business leaders and functional heads to translate business priorities into effective people strategies.
- Act as a trusted HR advisor and thought partner to leaders on talent, performance, employee engagement, organisation effectiveness and workforce planning.
- Drive organisation design, workforce planning and change management initiatives to support business growth and transformation.
- Coach and advise managers on performance management, talent development, succession planning and leadership capability.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention and organisational culture.
- Manage and resolve employee relations and workplace matters, ensuring compliance with Malaysian employment legislation and company policies.
- Use HR data, workforce analytics and people insights to identify trends, diagnose issues and influence business decisions.
- Partner with Regional HR, Talent Acquisition, L&D and HR Operations to deliver consistent and impactful people solutions.
- Take a hands-on approach to HR initiatives — from strategy through to execution.
What We're Looking For
You’re an experienced HR professional who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels.
- 6–8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HRBP / HR Business Partner capacity.
- Experience supporting businesses within Technology, IT, E-commerce, Automotive, Automotive-Tech, Start-up or other fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of the Malaysian Employment Act and local employment regulations.
- Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decisions without relying on formal authority.
- Strong experience across employee relations, performance management, talent management, organisation development and change management.
- Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to connect people strategy to business outcomes.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organisation and navigating ambiguity, change and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn HR data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, adaptable and resilient, with a strong bias towards execution.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the people agenda of a high-growth automotive-tech business. You’ll work directly with business leaders, influence organisational decisions and have the opportunity to make a visible impact across people, culture and business performance.
If you’re an HRBP who enjoys solving complex people challenges, influencing leaders and building scalable people practices in a fast-moving environment, we’d love to hear from you.
