Job Summary
The Business Development Manager identifies new business opportunities, develops client relationships, and drives revenue growth. This role develops strategies, secures projects, maintains client relations, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure successful project acquisition and delivery.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, clients, and market segments to expand company reach
Build and sustain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and business partners to support business growth
Conduct market research and analyze industry trends, competitors, and potential projects to inform strategic decisions
Monitor and identify relevant tenders, projects, and business opportunities aligned with company objectives
Prepare and submit detailed quotations, tenders, proposals, and business presentations to secure projects
Follow up proactively with clients on quotations, tenders, and project opportunities to advance sales processes
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contract conditions with clients to achieve favorable agreements
Develop and implement business development strategies to meet or exceed company sales and revenue targets
Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement, finance, and management teams to develop competitive proposals
Maintain an updated pipeline of potential projects and deliver regular business development reports to management
Attend client meetings, industry events, networking sessions, and site visits to foster business relationships
Track project opportunities from initial enquiry through tender submission and contract award to ensure timely follow-up
Maintain accurate records of clients, leads, quotations, tenders, and business opportunities for effective tracking
Support management in developing strategic partnerships and exploring new markets to enhance growth potential
Perform additional business development activities as assigned by management to support company objectives
Required competencies and certifications
Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Business Development, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or the construction/engineering industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant business development/tendering tools
Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities
