Silara Akses Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian scaffolding and access-solutions provider serving construction, infrastructure and industrial projects. We provide scaffold rental, sales, engineering and related services to contractors and project owners across Malaysia.
We are seeking an experienced Finance and Administration Manager to lead our Finance and Administration Department.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, cash-flow management, compliance, internal controls and general administration. The successful candidate must be capable of leading a team while remaining closely involved in important operational and financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership
- Lead, supervise and develop the Finance and Administration team.
- Assign responsibilities, establish priorities and monitor departmental deadlines.
- Review the accuracy and completeness of work prepared by team members.
- Develop clear procedures, controls and performance expectations for the department.
- Coach team members and improve their accounting, administrative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Promote accuracy, accountability, confidentiality and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate closely with Management, Sales, Operations, Projects, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams.
Financial Reporting and Management
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare budgets, financial forecasts and cash-flow projections.
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins, expenditure, working capital and financial performance.
- Present financial results, risks and recommendations to management.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements to financial performance.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure daily financial transactions are recorded accurately and completely.
- Review invoices, receipts, payments, journal entries and account adjustments.
- Monitor customer collections, credit control and ageing reports.
- Review supplier payments and ensure all transactions have appropriate supporting documents and approvals.
- Oversee petty cash, employee claims and reimbursement records.
- Maintain accurate fixed-asset and financial records.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded in AutoCount and the company's accounting systems.
Cash-Flow and Financial Controls
- Monitor the company's daily cash position and upcoming financial commitments.
- Plan collections and payments to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Develop, implement and enforce appropriate financial policies and approval controls.
- Safeguard company assets and maintain clear audit trails.
- Identify financial, operational and control risks and recommend corrective action.
- Review existing processes and introduce improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency and accountability.
Payroll and Employee-Related Payments
- Oversee payroll preparation and payroll-related accounting.
- Review employee claims, reimbursements and other staff-related payments.
- Coordinate with the relevant team members to ensure statutory contributions and payroll documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and controls over payroll and employee financial information.
Audit, Tax and Compliance
- Coordinate annual audits and provide complete schedules and supporting documents.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, banks and relevant authorities.
- Oversee the preparation of tax information, regulatory filings and statutory financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, legal requirements and company policies.
- Monitor relevant changes in accounting, taxation and financial regulations.
- Address audit findings, account discrepancies and compliance issues promptly.
- Maintain complete and properly organised financial records.
Client and Vendor Account Management
- Maintain professional working relationships with customers, suppliers, banks and service providers.
- Ensure customer invoicing and supplier-payment processes are timely and accurate.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies, payment issues and reconciliation differences.
- Support other departments in resolving commercial or documentation matters with customers and vendors.
Administration Management
- Lead the company's general administrative functions and ensure smooth day-to-day support for operations.
- Maintain organised company records, correspondence, agreements and administrative documentation.
- Monitor administrative expenses and manage relevant service providers.
- Coordinate the renewal and maintenance of company licences, insurance policies, agreements and other recurring administrative requirements.
- Oversee office facilities, supplies and other administrative resources.
- Ensure administrative processes are documented, controlled and completed on schedule.
- Support management with reports, documentation and other administrative requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification or progress towards one would be an advantage.
- Preferably at least five years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a finance, accounts or administration team.
- Strong knowledge of full-set accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management and internal controls.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting and audit preparation.
- Experience liaising with auditors, tax agents, banks, suppliers and regulatory authorities.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCount or a comparable accounting system.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, formulas and financial analysis.
- Experience in construction, scaffolding, rental, manufacturing, engineering or another project-based business would be an advantage.
- Good written and spoken communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Able to follow through on commitments, manage competing deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for more than someone who can prepare accounts and process transactions. The successful candidate must be able to take ownership of the company's Finance and Administration Department, lead the team effectively, strengthen internal controls and give management a clear and timely understanding of the company's financial position.
The right person will be hands-on, dependable, commercially aware and prepared to investigate problems thoroughly. They should be able to recommend improvements, establish stronger working processes and ensure important financial and administrative matters are followed through to completion.

Salary: RM4,000–RM8,000 per month
