Job Description

Responsibilities

Location: Singapore

Employment: Full-time

Start Date: Immediate / October 2026

Salary: SGD 3,600–4,500 per month, depending on experience

Requirement: Must already be eligible to work in Singapore

About the Role

A Life by Design is looking for a capable, hands-on

Senior Finance Executive

to join our Singapore team as we continue to grow.

This role suits someone who has developed strong finance fundamentals within a

project-based business

and is ready to bring that experience into a growing, entrepreneurial company.

Our work spans design, architecture, procurement, FF&E, manufacturing and project delivery, with multiple projects operating at different stages. We therefore need someone who understands both the day-to-day discipline of finance and the importance of maintaining an accurate financial picture across individual projects.

You will be responsible for core finance operations while working closely with management and project teams to strengthen project financial reporting, controls and visibility.

We are looking for someone who can

bring skills and experience to the table, introduce better ways of working where appropriate, and grow with the business

—while remaining comfortable getting into the detail and doing the work.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations in Xero.

Prepare and issue client invoices, including deposits, progressive / milestone billing and approved variations.

Track client collections and actively follow up outstanding receivables.

Manage supplier invoices, payment schedules and payment preparation.

Ensure supplier, consultant, subcontractor and other costs are correctly allocated to the relevant project.

Process staff expenses and petty cash with appropriate project / cost allocation.

Work closely with project teams to maintain accurate and current project financial information.

Prepare and maintain project P&Ls and profitability reporting, including:

Contracted revenue

Revenue invoiced

Revenue collected

Project costs incurred

Other project-related costs

Committed / upcoming project costs

Gross profit and expected project margin

Maintain visibility over future supplier and project commitments so management has a clear understanding of committed versus available cash.

Monitor collections, costs and project cash flow and flag discrepancies or areas requiring attention.

Support monthly management reporting and intercompany reconciliations.

Assist with GST submissions, payroll processing and IR8A preparation where required.

Help strengthen finance processes, reporting and controls as the business continues to grow.

What We Are Looking For

Approximately

4–5 years' relevant accounting / finance experience

.

Experience within a

project-based business

is strongly preferred.

Exposure to industries such as interior design, architecture, fit-out, construction, property, engineering, manufacturing, professional services or similar environments would be valuable.

Practical experience with progressive / milestone billing and project accounting.

Strong understanding of project costing, gross profit, margin and cash flow.

Hands-on experience managing AP, AR, collections and supplier payments.

Good working knowledge of

Xero and Excel

.

Comfortable working directly with project teams to obtain, question and validate financial information.

Able to identify discrepancies and investigate issues rather than simply process information provided.

Commercially aware and interested in understanding how individual projects contribute to the wider business.

Organised, accurate and comfortable operating in a fast-moving SME environment.

Someone who can bring ideas and experience from previous roles and contribute to improving the way we work.

Equally comfortable

doing the work today and helping us build better systems for tomorrow

.

Knowledge of Singapore GST, payroll and IR8A preparation is an advantage.

Must already be eligible to work in Singapore.

The Opportunity

A Life by Design is growing, and we see this role growing with it.

We are not looking for someone to simply inherit an existing way of doing things. We value people who bring experience, ask good questions and can identify where processes or reporting could be improved.

At the same time, we are a hands-on business. The right person will be comfortable moving between the detail of day-to-day finance and the bigger picture of helping us build a stronger finance function as we scale.

Working Conditions

Full-time position based in Singapore, Monday to Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Monthly salary:
SGD 3,600–4,500, depending on qualifications and experience.
