Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description KidsFirst Singapore is an early intervention center for children with special needs, offering integrated speech and occupational therapy in a clinic-based setting. The center supports children with a wide range of developmental and learning challenges, including Autism, language delays, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and Down syndrome, typically from ages 2 to 12 and up to 17 for therapy programs. KidsFirst provides evidence-based pediatric therapy across social-emotional, language and communication, cognitive, and physical domains to help children reach key developmental milestones. Services include individualized OT and ST sessions, group-based interventions, and combined therapy programs tailored to each child’s needs. KidsFirst was recognized as the HoneyKids Asia Gold Winner for Best Early Intervention Centre in 2023.

Role Description This part-time Special Education Teacher role is a hybrid position based in Singapore, with a mix of on-site work at the center and some work-from-home flexibility for planning and documentation. The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with diverse learning and developmental needs, aligning goals with therapeutic interventions provided by speech and occupational therapists. Daily responsibilities include delivering structured lessons, adapting curriculum, managing classroom routines, and using appropriate behavioral and instructional strategies to support each child’s progress. The role involves ongoing assessment, data collection, and reporting on student outcomes, as well as regular communication with families and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The teacher will also contribute to group programs, participate in team meetings, and engage in professional development to maintain best practices in special education.

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field; relevant teaching certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience in early intervention or pediatric settings, and familiarity with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., OT, ST) is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, demonstrating initiative, organization, and respect for diverse cultural and family backgrounds.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and continuous professional learning.
