Responsibilities

Location: Chengdu, China

Tenure: Contract (1 year renewable)

Schedule: 8 weeks on/ 2 weeks off

Job Description:

  • Ensure delivery of the Engineering Dossier with a robust Process engineering definition and fit-for-purpose design that can be safely procured, fabricated, transported, installed, commissioned, and operated in compliance with project standards and the Basis of Design.
  • Ensure, control, and coordinate the proper execution of Process design in compliance with project specifications, procedures, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Plan, prepare, and lead Process discipline meetings with EPSCC Contractors, vendors, package suppliers, and third-party reviewers in coordination with the Discipline Lead.
  • Identify, manage, and track Process engineering technical decisions, including those requiring third-party review or approval.
  • Define clear action plans and secure timely technical agreements within the Engineering phase schedule.
  • Monitor Process discipline progress, identify delays or issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate Process engineering interfaces with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Define, document, and monitor Process interface parameters with other project disciplines.
  • Perform thorough and timely reviews of Process discipline documents, identifying deviations from standards and challenging designs to achieve optimized, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Ensure all Process-related project documents are reviewed and commented on within the required timeframe and in accordance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization and improvement during the early stages of detailed design.
  • Promote and encourage value engineering initiatives.
  • Promote fit-for-purpose design solutions to optimize cost, planning, and schedule.
  • Promote standardization of Process design solutions wherever practicable.
  • Provide timely and clear responses to Contractors’ and vendors’ engineering clarifications and technical queries.
  • Identify and review potential deviations or derogations from project standards and ensure deviation packages are properly prepared, reviewed, and approved.
  • Consult the Process department on Process derogation requests and coordinate with relevant review panels to secure required approvals.
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on engineering, constructability, and operational matters.
  • Incorporate relevant feedback, lessons learned, and best practices from similar projects into the design.
  • Define, follow up, and evaluate Process discipline studies performed by Contractors, ensuring completion in accordance with approved project gates and design maturity requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and participation of project studies and reviews, including model reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, CHAZOP, constructability reviews, PRs, and other studies as required.
  • Provide technical clarifications and responses during internal project audits and safety studies.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc engineering meetings with Contractors, vendors, licensors, and third-party reviewers.
  • Assist in preparing engineering progress reports covering Process discipline status, schedule, risks, technical issues, and key actions.
  • Identify potential Process discipline risks and scope changes and perform impact assessments to support decision-making by Discipline Engineering Coordinators and Leads.
  • Review and assess Process-related engineering scope changes to ensure alignment with the approved Basis of Design and project standards.
  • Manage Process scope changes in accordance with the project change management plan.
  • Assist the Discipline Lead in assessing project change orders.
  • Support the Discipline Lead in Process engineering risk management activities.


Requirements:

  • Professional Experience (years): 10+ years in Oil and Gas projects
  • Experience in similar position (years): 5+ years at same or equivalent position with managerial responsibilities
  • Strong experience in Flow assurance, performing multiphasic pipeline dynamic studies
  • Level / Diploma: Engineer, Master of science
  • Languages: English mandatory
