JOB DESCRIPTION

A Retail Branch Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of the branch, ensuring smooth workflow, excellent customer service, strong sales performance, and effective team management. This role oversees all store functions including staff supervision, inventory control, merchandising, compliance, and achieving branch KPIs.

·         Manage the overall daily operations of the branch, including floor display, stock flow, manpower deployment, branch cleanliness, and equipment upkeep.

·         Ensure smooth store opening and closing procedures and maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment across the selling floor, warehouse, and cool room.

·         Oversee the maintenance of all equipment, fixtures, and fittings to prevent downtime and ensure operational readiness.

·         Ensure all branch permits, licences, and regulatory requirements are valid and up-to-date.

·         Be accountable for the branch’s overall performance and profitability.

·         Monitor and analyse sales turnover to support efficient stock ordering and maximise profit margins.

·         Continuously review and optimise floor space usage, gondola displays, and block displays to drive sales.

·         Stay updated on retail market trends and customer preferences to increase sales opportunities.

·         Lead, supervise, train, and coach all staff and workers to ensure consistent performance and adherence to SOPs.

·         Prepare duty rosters, allocate manpower effectively, and ensure adequate coverage during operational hours.

·         Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance to build a high-performing team.

·         Foster a positive, disciplined, and service-driven work culture.

·         Ensure accurate and timely stock ordering to maintain sufficient supply with no out-of-stock and no over-order situations.

·         Oversee daily stock recording and updating for all control items.

·         Prevent obsolete stock by enforcing proper stock planning, timely rotation, and regular stock checks.

·         Ensure proper handling of perishable items to minimise wastage, shrinkage, and spoilage.

·         Maintain accurate stock levels in both the selling floor and warehouse.

·         Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and helpful service at all times.

·         Address customer concerns professionally and take corrective actions where needed.

·         Maintain a pleasant shopping environment through proper display, cleanliness, and staff engagement.

·         Ensure full compliance with company policies, SOPs, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
